Is it good to include vapour barrier when insulating a basement?
The general rule on vapour barrier applies here as well: You need it on any exterior walls, and it always goes on the “warm in winter” side of the insulation. Don’t forget to continue the insulation (and vapour barrier) all the way up into the joist pockets of the ceiling as well—that’s where a lot of rot problems start. Careful attention to detail at this step will definitely pay off.
