Welcome to the Shop Hack Blog

Let me tell you why I’m very excited about this blog.

For each issue of Canadian Home Workshop, we gather together the best stories, projects and reviews. Sometimes the tough part about this process is deciding what’s in and what’s out of the magazine. But with this blog, I’m only faced with “What can I get in today?” It feels like my shop just doubled in size and I don’t know what to do with all the extra space. Not a bad conundrum, eh?

With is space, I plan to get you tool news as it breaks; highlight noteworthy articles you might have missed on the CHW site; link up with some of the blogs follow; devise random contests, just for the heck of it; discuss all things helpful and silly under the Web; and read your comments to the posts.

So, get the sawdust off of your fingers before you man the mouse and keep an eye on the Shop Hack blog. There’s going to be a lot of DIY and woodworking stuff to read.

Though I may be mistaken, I seem to remember plans for a bird bath in a past issue of CHW. I also remember that CHW had an online index of past issues. So is there a bird bath plan (it used concrete blocks in the base for stability) and is there a way to search back issues of CHW online?
